To get started using the name tag printer app, you need to login first. On the login screen, select your preferred method.
You can select to login with Eventbrite, Meetup or using your email address.
No matter how you login event data is synchronised with all devices that use the same account. This means that if you check in an attendee or add a guest, this will immediately reflect on all of your devices.
Login with Eventbrite
Use this option to show your upcoming Eventbrite events in the app. You will be redirected to the Eventbrite site to login and authorise Name Tag Printer to access your Eventbrite account. Your Eventbrite password is never shared with the app. Note that only upcoming events will be shown when you first login. As you update or add events, changes will be automatically reflected in the the app.
Login with Meetup
Use this option to show your upcoming Meetup events that you are the organiser of in the app. You will be redirected to Meetup to login and authorise Name Tag Printer to access your Meetup account. Your Meetup password is never shared with the app. Meetup event data is refreshed periodically within the app, and you can refresh it at any time using "pull to refresh" too.
Login with e-mail
If you are not using Eventbrite or Meetup, you can login using your email address. Just enter your email address in the login screen and we'll send you an email to login with a link. No passwords required!
Once logged in, you can add an event and import a list of attendees for your event from an Excel (xlsx) or comma separated values (csv) file.
Importing your attendee list
To import your attendee list, prepare an xlsx (recommended) or csv file. This file should contain a header row, with at least a name column to print on the name tag. If you are using other fields like first name, last name or company then the import file should also contain these fields.
Click here for an example xslx template you can use for importing attendee details
After importing you can always edit the attendee information to add or correct any details as required.
Connecting a printer
Connect a printer using an OTG adapter or cable suitable for your device. The following printers are supported:
Dymo LabelWriter 450Dymo LabelWriter 450 Turbo
When connecting a printer for the first time, a dialog will be shown asking to give permission to the Name Tag Printer app to use the printer. Click OK to allow this, and optionally tick the check box to remember this setting (highly recommended). The app will automatically be started if not running.
Tip: connecting multiple printers to a single device is supported by connecting an USB hub to the OTG cable, which the printers can then be plugged into.
If you use multiple devices for check-in, you should only have one device with one or more printers connected; other devices will use the connected printers. In a future update support for having multiple printers connected to different devices will be added.
